Fluency Patterns: Preparing for Writing Book 1
SKU / ISBN:
Author: Bricknell, Nick
Fluency Patterns is the first of two pre-writing workbooks which have been designed to introduce the manipulative skills and fluency needed for formal writing in a fun way through the completion of appealing pictures.
This workbook provides a range of discrimination exercises which are so important as the first step in preparing children for formal reading. They include identifying differences in pictures and shapes, such as selecting one object which is different from the rest in a group; choosing one among otherwise identical pictures or shapes which differ in size, direction, or finding the one that has something missing.
There are also exercises in selecting one object from a group which is identical to a given one; matching pairs of objects; finding one thing that moves in a different way to the rest; and identifying pairs of words which rhyme.
