Aboriginal Australia

The Indigenous inhabitants of Australia had a rich and highly developed culture before the coming of the Europeans. Not all initial contact between European and Aboriginal culture was negative and some early settlers left detailed impressions of the culture and daily life of the Aboriginal people they encountered. The aim of this book is to try and impart an understanding of traditional Aboriginal culture and society at the time of this 'first contact'. This is done by incorporating different aspects of Aboriginal culture and society into mainstream subjects, found in upper primary and lower secondary schools.
